Senior Data Steward

- Barry Callebaut Digital (BC Digital) is on a mission to lead the digital revolution in the chocolate industry, and we're looking for a Senior Data Steward, to help us build a foundation for actionable insights based on well-governed data. Reporting to the Head of Data Stewardship, you will ensure that Barry Callebaut's data assets are managed effectively, accurately, securely, and in compliance with regulations and our data governance standards. You will cooperate closely with stakeholders from business and digital, to understand their requirements and lay the right foundation of Master Data.
- Oversee operations around all aspects of data management, ensuring compliance with our data governance standards
- Create and maintain processes and procedures that monitor and enforce data governance policies
- Ensure appropriate master data classification based on its distribution requirements and governance standards
- Identify and mitigate risks and vulnerabilities associated with data security and compliance
- Coordinate with relevant users to understand end-to-end data flows and requirements
- Identify opportunities for improving data management processes, workflows, and systems
- Establish and maintain guidelines for data handling, data governance, quality assessments, data privacy and data security
- Conduct training sessions and provide support to end-users on data management practices and tools
- Degree in IT/technology, data, business administration, or a comparable field
- Proficiency in English
- Advanced knowledge of data management and governance processes and best practices
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in data management and governance
- Demonstrated success in instructing diverse teams and driving change collaboratively on a global scale
- Possesses good problem-solving skills and a structured way of working
- Good written and verbal communication skills, being able to communicate problems to non-technical audiences
- Collaborates well across diverse and globally distributed teams, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships across different levels and functions of the organization
- Is a true team player, supporting their colleagues by sharing knowledge and experience and commits the teams’ joint success
- Capable of effecting communication, conveying complex problems clearly and persuasively to internal and external stakeholders
- Openness to try and learn new technologies and skills
- Independent and self-driven personality, taking responsibility and owning tasks
