Overview: We are looking for an experienced and strategic Head of Unit, Social Media to lead our social media team and drive our social media strategy. This role requires a visionary leader who can elevate our brand presence, engage our audience, and ensure our social media initiatives align with overall business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with the NGO’s mission, objectives, and target audience.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage the social media team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Content Creation: Oversee the development of impactful content that communicates our message, engages stakeholders, and promotes our programs and campaigns.
  • Engagement & Advocacy: Build and nurture online communities, encouraging dialogue and participation to amplify our advocacy efforts and mobilize support.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Analyze and report on social media performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other units (cross-functional teams (e.g., fundraising, programs, communications, marketing, PR) to integrate social media efforts into broader campaigns.
  • Crisis Management: Develop and implement strategies for addressing sensitive issues or crises on social media, ensuring timely and appropriate responses.
  • Innovation: Stay informed about emerging social media trends, tools, and best practices to continually enhance our approach and impact.
  • Budgeting: Manage social media advertising strategies, including budget allocation and performance tracking.
  • Engagement: Foster community engagement and build relationships with influencers, brand advocates, and partners.
  • To follow the standard operating procedure of the organization on work ethics and professional duties at all times.
  • To take on any other related responsibilities which are reasonably related to the job title of this position or assign by supervisor/manager.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience in social media management, with a proven track record of leading successful campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of social media analytics tools and performance metrics.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative thinker with a strong sense of branding and design.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with social media advertising and budget management.
  • A portfolio showcasing previous successful social media initiatives is preferred.
