What you will do as a Recruitment Advisor
Purpose of the role
We are looking for a Recruitment Advisor supporting our client in the international student recruitment space. The role will be based in Malaysia. The primary role of the candidate is to own the recruitment initiatives in Southeast Asia, particularly Malaysia. The position will involve interaction with internal and external stakeholders. We seek a proactive, and results driven candidate with a minimum of 3 years working experience in student recruitment.

The post holder must be outcome and results-oriented, resilient, creative, and innovative. The post will require supporting the regional team with travel, including weekends and out of office hours, as and when required. The role will be required to travel on a regular basis.

Main Responsibilities
As a Recruitment Advisor, you will work alongside the regional team, in delivering the recruitment strategy in SEA, particularly in Malaysia. Specifically, you will:
  • Nurture relationships with recruitment agents, including telephone and email communication. Conduct regular visits to approved agent offices across SEA to interview prospective students and engage with agency staff.
  • Support the coordination of student recruitment activities in Malaysia, including interview programs and education fairs, providing prospective students and other stakeholders with relevant and accurate advice regarding University’s offer.
  • Support SEA team to in planning and delivering conversion activities to increase enrolment into programs offered the University.
  • Provide program counselling to students and parents and assist them in making an informed decision.
  • Provide a monthly activity report of activities undertaken daily and of relevant market updates, as well as produce and interpret student data.
  • Support the University’s marketing activities, social media calendar by suggesting content, sharing relevant information on with prospective students, parents, agency counsellors and other key influencers.
  • Assist with distributing relevant marketing activities/promotions as specified by the University.
  • Conduct school and institution partner visits to build sustainable relationships with staff and delivering presentations advising high school, college and university students about applying to the University.

What you bring to the team
  • Completion of a degree and/or relevant combination of skills and experience.
  • Experience in the international education industry with at least 3 years.
  • Demonstrated experience in international education recruitment or experience in sales and meeting/or exceeding targets.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the SEA’s higher education sector and relevant high school and university sectors.
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to communicate and present effectively to groups, and with a diverse range of people and organisations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team, as well as work independently using initiative and judgement.
  • High level of responsibility and accountability for completing tasks within specified timeframes.
  • Uses own expertise and seeks others’ expertise to achieve team and division goals.
  • A valid passport with the ability to travel.
