About the job

The purpose of the Marketing & PR Manager at IKEA is to use the IKEA business priorities, knowledge of IKEA range, online and offline consumer trends, Malaysia market, competition and IKEA customers’ living situations to drive and develop solutions now and in the future in Malaysia and in all external media. This role leads and inspire in the marketing function to achieve comms excellence, sales growth and profitability. This role contributes to the business development using specialist knowledge, set a clear direction on marketing, advertising, PR and print publication functions in Malaysia.

Your assignment

  • Accountable for Advertising (Offline and Display Banners). Ensure the development and successful implementation of advertising campaigns as per the commercial calendar and any other locally relevant opportunities in addition to the commercial calendar.
  • Work closely with other SO functions and Markets in the development of each launch/campaign.
  • Secure that the overall advertising budget for the country is achieved and ensure appropriate evaluation to measure tangible metrics associated with budget and performance that delivers on marketing investments.
  • Accountable for (Commercial) Public Relations. Lead the development of PR strategy that supports the overall communication strategy direction and oversee that all country PR actions (e.g. interviews, media launches, press conference, etc) are implemented successfully.
  • Manage PR agency, their KPIs and deliverables. Secure brand leadership in media value and share of voice results in country PR.
  • Responsible for the development of Loyalty Communications and programme updates. Manage the development of loyalty communications calendar/brief as a base, to develop communications materials for IKEA FAMILY and småles members.
  • Ensure red thread with the communication platforms (e.g. Ads, Digital, etc.) in line with launch and campaign themes.
  • Responsible for External Partner Collaborations and Loyalty Programme Partnerships. Lead, review and approve collaboration initiatives to include sponsorship and promotions.
  • Lead and liaise with relevant interval stakeholders such as the marketing team, Sales, Com-in, stores or sustainability if the collaboration involves them.
  • Responsible for other tasks including Market Intelligence coordination, Budgets, etc. Main co-ordinator of Market Intelligence research initiated by Systems on country level. Thereafter, to work closely with Local Marketing to maximise opportunities at the PMA level as needed to externally communicate commercial offers and activities in the market.

Qualifications

Your profile

  • Deep knowledge and experience in marketing and branding, conceptualising campaigns, media landscapes in the country, possess logical abilities, and copy-writing skills.
  • Deep knowledge and experience in loyalty marketing, analysis, and programme needs to attract and to better members’ experience.
  • Deep knowledge of trends, proven solutions, translating global into local market relevant solutions that influence home furnishing and retailing.
  • Expert knowledge of operational plans and goals as well follow up on KPI’s.
  • Experience in managing a team and possess knowledge of leadership capabilities.
  • Expert knowledge about customers' living situations as well as their needs and frustrations in their everyday life at home in order to translate that into strong messaging.
  • Possess analytical skills and strategic thinking so as to develop marketing plans, set budgets and follow-up on goals with agility as needed.
  • Ability to work in fast moving stressful environment and deliver business goals.
  • Ability to understand the complexity of IKEA business and the role of commerciality as an integrated part of the business.
  • Ability to take holistic view of the organisation and identify business opportunities.
  • Possess a creative mindset with good eye for creatives, copy writing and layouts, and ability to challenge common ways of thinking.
  • Driven by generating efficiencies with details given to processes, trends customer insights, and media effectiveness, in line with agreed metrics, KPIs and ROIs
