Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking someone with software development skills to assist in the development of our various in-house applications. Main responsibility is to support our PIXL portal in creating automated interfaces with external SAAS tools through their APIs. Previous experience with Airtable’s API is an advantage. They will work closely with the VP Technology to develop and maintain IT projects of various functions for use throughout the company.
For you to be selected as a candidate, you will need to have an extensive knowledge of Javascript, PHP, Python and HTML/CSS languages, and MySQL, PostgreSQL and NoSQL database implementations. Experience with Docker or Kubernetes containerisation and multi-cloud deployment is also highly valued.
Additional Responsibilities include;
• Work with Director of Technical to develop in-house and/or cloud-ready software solutions
• Performing design, debug and performance analysis on these solutions
• Documenting and sharing best practice knowledge for these solutions
• To organise training and workshop to help users make better use of these solutions
• Create technical and user manuals for the maintenance and usage of these solutions
Desired skills and qualifications:
• University/College diploma/degree, preferably in the field of IT, Computer Science, or relevant qualification
• Extensive knowledge of Javascript, PHP, Python and HTML/CSS languages
• Extensive knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience with multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud environments
• Experience with content management and video on demand systems
• Self-motivated and driven, great personality, can work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
• Warm personality with strong communication skills.
• The ability to communicate technical solutions in layman’s terms
