About The Role



Be the HR Generalist Lead for the Malaysia office where the candidate will be instrumental in supporting a wide range of HR initiatives and processes and ensuring smooth HR operations for multi-countries within South East Asia. The role will include working closely alongside our HR Partners and Business DOOs, Coordinators and Business Managers to ensure alignment of activity. The role will also take an active role in supporting the implementation of key projects.



  • HR operational responsibilities including developing HR policies in line with local regulations, enforcing procedures, managing processes and systems, and ensuring compliance on day-to-day handling of HR matters.
  • Partner and advise business leaders on people and team related issues, manage and execute all areas of the employee life cycle
  • Work in partnership with stakeholders to deliver professional HR advisories, provide seamless HR support to the business, drive the implementation of HR practices and initiatives and devising creative solutions where necessary within policy framework
  • Participating in projects and/or contributing to projects in terms of HR improvement
  • Local HR contact point for business stakeholder for topics in relation to HR
  • HR Governance, and managing local regulator required mandatory processes.
  • Produce executive, management, standard and ad hoc reports, and other necessary deliverables, utilizing the central HR reporting tools e.g., the Workforce Dashboard, whilst pro-actively creating reporting solutions for specific business needs.
  • Identify gaps in existing processes proactively and drive continuous improvements to HR processes.
  • Co-ordinate with topic experts & ensure follow-up activity/requirements are documented and cascaded appropriately.

About You

Key skills and knowledge:

  • Minimum 10 years' experience as HR Generalist in an insurance firm (preferably MNC)
  • Experience with Senior stakeholder management
  • Proven experience in dealing with Bank Negara/local HR governance/labour law/ER/compliance etc
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to review data and produce critical analysis and insights including understanding basic statistics.
  • Self starter and resourceful, and independent
  • Local language expertise, excellent communication skills: strong with both verbal and written presentations with experience of creating story telling through executive analysis/reporting information.
  • Able to prioritize and work in a structured and organized way.
  • "Hands on" HR professional with knowledge of HR management processes in a global business environment

  • Enthusiastic individual with a client orientated approach that seeks to understand issues/concerns and create solutions to improve ways of working.
  • Ability to operate as an interface between the business and the HR team and navigate ambiguity decisively.
  • Willing to be held accountable and take ownership of projects/activities.
  • Global understanding and mindset and strong process orientation
