JOB PURPOSE:

  • Support Manager Industrial Relations & Employee Relations in designing, promote and enhance harmonious and conducive working environment between the Management and employees by championing the sound industrial relations and employee relation policy and practices in compliance with the statutory requirements, law and regulations set by the Ministry of Human Resource and safeguarding the Company’s interest.
  • Assist to provide practical, consistent, and proactive support, direction and advice on HR procedure, policy, best practice, rewards, and benefits to facilitate in achieving the company’s objective.
  • Assist in managing the disciplinary process and ensure that they are in line with the applicable Employment and Labour Law and Company’s policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Assist in advising internal stakeholders on relevant labour laws, Company policies and procedures related to employee misconduct, poor performance and grievances.
  • Assist and support and align cultural and behavioral change necessary for all corporate IR/ER program.

Employee Relations

  • Assist in implementing human resources activities/services in accordance with corporate policies, objectives, and goals, serving as an advisor to management on matters relating to employees.
  • Assist in counseling employees on work related matters or personal problems to provide avenues or stimulate practical solutions within the employment terms so that employees could focus on their respective jobs.
  • Assist in ensuring company’s decisions e.g. Voluntary Scheme, Separation Package and Dismissal are in accordance with Government policies, no arbitrary actions are taken in order to avoid legal actions against the Company, thus protecting Company’s image and integrity.

Industrial Relations

  • Assist in managing Industrial Relations matters to ensure compliance with the statutory rules and regulations to safeguard Company’s interest.
  • Assist in collaborating with Company’s legal department and external legal counsel in the preparation of IR cases in the organization.

Union Relations

  • Collaborate with the IRER team in representing the Management in all matters pertaining to employee with regards to Union’s concerns on their benefits and welfare. Ensure Union’s concerns are adequately addressed and acted upon by the Management to promote industrial harmony within the Company.
  • Assist in negotiating on behalf of the Management in the Collective Bargaining with the Union to ensure Management’s interests are protected, as well as employees’ interest are taken care of. Manage any tension that may arise during the negotiation to achieve a mutually beneficial Collective Agreement (CA) and social relationship between the parties.

Employee Performance Improvement Process

  • Coordinate and administer the employee performance improvement program (PIP) for non-performers ensuring the process is managed efficiently and timely.
  • Assist in providing guidance and advisory to the business leaders and HOD on the performance expectation and targets in alignment to the policy and procedures.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 5-7 years of related working experience in industrial relations and employee relations.
  • Minimum a Bachelor’s Degree/Master’s Degree in Law, Behavioral Science, Human Resource Management or equivalent.
