Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Compliance Officer to help lead and support our compliance efforts in Malaysia. Your primary role will be to supervise and administer all compliance-related activities at Sunrate Sdn.Bhd, including acting as the appointed MSB Compliance Officer as per Bank Negara Malaysia regulatory requirements.

You will report directly to the Head of Compliance who is based in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Regulatory Compliance: Perform the role as the appointed Compliance Officer as per regulatory requirements in Malaysia, ensuring strict adherence to relevant regulations overseen by the Bank Negara Malaysa (BNM).

2.Regulatory Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for Bank Negara Malaysia, fostering positive relationships and ensuring clear communication regarding compliance matters.

3.Understanding of Regulations: Demonstrate a clear applied understanding of regulations applicable to licensed MSBs in Malaysia.

4.Development and implementation of Policies and Procedures: Apply regulatory requirements effectively by developing and implementing appropriate policies and procedures for our MSB operations in Malaysia. This includes customer due diligence measures, suspicious transaction reporting, and conducting risk-based assessments.

5.Stay Updated: Maintain a high level of awareness of the latest developments in regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

6.Reporting and Analysis: Regularly report findings and analyses of compliance risks to the Head of Compliance and Senior Management.

7.Team Supervision: Assist in the supervision of compliance staff in Malaysia, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure effective implementation of compliance measures.

Mandatory Requirements:

1.Registration and Training: Must be registered with the money services business Group of Compliance Officer (GOCO) established by the industry association within one month of appointment.

2.Successfully complete accredited AML/CFT training modules, including post-training assessments, developed by the GOCO.

3.Certification: Obtain certification/accreditation from recognized bodies, demonstrating proficiency in AML/CFT compliance functions within the MSB industry.

Qualifications and Experience:

1.Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., law, business administration, finance, economics).

2.Substantial experience in regulatory compliance within the MSB industry, with a proven track record in senior compliance roles.

3.In-depth understanding of Malaysian regulatory requirements related to MSBs, AML/CFT, and other relevant laws and regulations.

4.Sound leadership and management abilities, with experience in supervising and supporting compliance staff.

5.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively liaise with regulatory authorities, internal and external stakeholders.

6.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify compliance risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
