Job Description & Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain methods, operational sequences, and test protocols for manufacturing fiber lasers and laser-related products, including optical/laser alignment and testing procedures.
  • Collaborate with design engineering to coordinate the release of engineering changes or new products and propose improvements for products, processes, or testing.
  • Set up lasers using advanced optical techniques and calibrate lasers with electronic control.
  • Tackle a variety of problems where data analysis requires evaluating identifiable factors, exercising judgment within defined practices and policies to select appropriate methods and techniques for solutions.
  • Work from laser schematics, electrical diagrams, and both written and verbal instructions to conduct testing, fault diagnosis, and troubleshooting.
  • Lead failure analysis efforts to identify root causes, providing thorough evaluations and analyses, and develop effective corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop laser-related solutions, reduce product and process costs, and implement value engineering initiatives.
  • Provide technical leadership and guide engineering efforts in product and technology transfers.
  • Lead technical improvement projects and support laser manufacturing to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Photonics, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in the photonics devices or systems sector.
  • Familiarity with laser systems, optics, and photonics components is a plus.
  • Basic programming skills in LabVIEW or MATLAB are advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Printed Circuit Board Assembly and software programming will be beneficial.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills, along with being a good team player.
  • Excellent structured problem-solving abilities are essential.
