Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Product Engineering Manager at onsemi in Negri Sembilan, Malaysia. The Product Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading product engineering teams, managing the product development lifecycle, overseeing software development processes, and collaborating with product management teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for quality improvements and the interface for VOC to VOB vice versa. Interface with customers and resolve quality issues for products in production. Lead customer technical interface and presentation.
  • Take ownership and interface with CQE (Customer Quality Engineering) for resolving customer quality and application issues on assigned product lines.
  • Lead and facilitate cross functional teams for problems solving, root cause investigation and 8D reporting. This includes coordination activities with product engineers, assembly, test and operations and wafer fabrication in other regions to achieve common goals.
  • Work closely with marketing, application, design, device, process, test and reliability engineers located in multiple countries in Asia, US and Europe.
  • Take leadership role to establish relationships with key contacts in wafer fabrication and assembly manufacturing and product engineer.
  • Responsible for all aspects of Engineering activities associated with quality metrics of the product portfolio.
  • Primary point of contact for all product quality aspects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferably in Electrical, Electronics or Physics.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration or Engineering and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification are added advantages.
  • 10 years or more of device or product and test engineering experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of power semiconductor devices such as SiC MOSFET, IGBT, Rectifier and gate drivers.
  • Knowledge of or experience in silicon fabrication, assembly and testing of discrete power devices is strongly desired. Experience in power modules is a plus.
  • Good knowledge in design of experience, statistical analysis, simple circuit and failure analysis.
  • Hands-on working experience with statistical analysis software tools such as JMP is preferred.
  • Proven track record of effective problem solving and good engineering judgment.
  • Ability to multitasking and self-driven to produce results in a timely fashion with strong sense of competitive urgency.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of 8D and 7QC Tools.
  • Good knowledge or sense of investigation technique will be an extra credit.
