About the Role

  • Implement the Data Analytics strategy of Group Internal Audit and projects to transform the team to a target state which featured dynamic and rolling audit plan, data-led targeted audit, real-time, continuous and automated audit as well as the capability to speedily report key issues

  • Work with different business units audit teams to:

    • design and develop analytical and data governance related projects

    • implement effective continuous monitoring

    • meet their reporting and analytics needs.

  • Identify opportunities to help and work across the business units to optimise the audit operational processes through analytics.

  • Arrange migration to the corporate tools/platforms and implement the relevant training curriculum to the members within Group Internal Audit where necessary.

  • Keep abreast of the data platform implementation progress in business units and establish data access for audit team and Group Office specialist audit teams.

  • Keep abreast of company projects (e.g., Control Automation, TDA) that may impact the DA methodology of Group Internal Audit.

  • Prepare data analytics summary for presentation to management and Audit Committee.

  • Lead/support audit engagements/ad hoc assignments by scripting of data analysis procedures, focusing on key risks specific to the audit processes in scope and uncovering meaningful insights for the audit team and the Management.

  • Communicate the results of audits and other assignments via written reports and oral presentations, and provide professional advice and insights in order to enable informed management decisions.

  • Perform other responsibilities and duties assigned to meet operational and/or other requirements.

Job Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree or above. Major in Computer Science or equivalent would be an advantage.
  • Eight years of experience in a data analysis or programming role preferably in audit, risk, compliance department, or control functions.
  • Experience with performing data analytics including directly discussing with business users and IT staff members to understand the business rules, identifying and locating the relevant data, data acquisition, understanding data fields, data preparation including importing, cleansing and formatting, creating queries based on the business rules and script the queries for re-run, exception follow-up and clarification.
  • Qualified accountant: CA, CPA or equivalent and/or Data Analytics related certifications would be an advantage.
  • Internal/external audit experience in the insurance or financial services industry would be an advantage.
  • Experience in driving/promoting the use of data analytics in audit and/or governance, control activities.
