Job Description

A Production Assistant with expertise in chemicals and quality control plays a vital role in supporting the manufacturing process. They assist in various production tasks, ensure the safe handling of chemicals, and maintain quality standards throughout the production process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Support:
  • Assist production operators in carrying out day-to-day tasks, such as mixing chemicals, operating machinery, and packaging products.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Identify and report any production issues or problems.
  • Chemical Handling:
  • Handle chemicals safely and responsibly, following all relevant safety protocols and regulations.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with chemicals.
  • Store chemicals properly and ensure that they are labelled correctly.
  • Dispose of chemicals in accordance with environmental regulations.
  • Quality Control:
  • Conduct quality checks on raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods.
  • Inspect products for defects and non-conformities.
  • Collect and analyse quality data.
  • Report quality issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Equipment Maintenance:
  • Assist in the maintenance and cleaning of production equipment.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or breakdowns.
  • Safety Compliance:
  • Adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
  • Participate in safety training programs.
  • Report any safety hazards or concerns.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Operation Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with exposure to chemical handling.
  • Knowledge of basic chemistry and chemical safety.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
