Key Responsibilities

  • Process Development:
  • Develop and implement machining processes and procedures for high-precision components.
  • Analyze blueprints, technical drawings, and 3D models to understand machining requirements.
  • Select appropriate machining tools, materials, and techniques to achieve desired tolerances and finishes.
  • Process Optimization:
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize machining processes to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle times, and improve overall performance.
  • Identify and troubleshoot process issues, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Utilize advanced machining technologies, such as CNC (Computer Numerical Control), EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining), and multi-axis machining.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure that machining processes adhere to quality standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with quality control teams to develop and execute inspection and testing protocols.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for non-conformance issues.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, tool setups, and process changes.
  • Prepare technical reports, process documentation, and training materials for team members.
  • Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and process improvements to management and stakeholders
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with design engineers and customer to ensure manufacturability of designs and optimize machining processes.
  • Coordinate with production teams to ensure smooth implementation of new processes and technologies.
  • Provide technical support and training to machinists and operators.
  • Project Management:
  • Lead or participate in projects aimed at improving machining processes, implementing new technologies, or developing new products.
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets effectively.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in precision machining or a similar role, with a strong background in CNC machining, EDM, or related technologies.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in machining processes, tool selection, and setup.
  • Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software and programming.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities (Capable of effective communication in English and Chinese)
  • Certifications: Professional certifications related to machining or process engineering (e.g., Six Sigma, PMP) are advantageous.

Working Conditions

  • Environment: The role may involve working in a manufacturing or workshop environment with exposure to machining equipment and tools.
  • Physical Requirements: May require standing for extended periods, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift and handle materials and tools.

Travel

  • Able to travel between various countries from time to time (Such as Singapore, Malaysia, China, Philippines & others)
  • On average travel within 25% of total work time
