Architectural Drafter

JOB POSITION: AUDIO VISUAL/ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN DRAFTER

JOB OBJECTIVES / SUMMARY

The architectural CAD drafter is expected to work closely with the LDCL team to deliver

architectural and engineering designs and drawings for various projects assigned as well as

to ensure the timeliness and quality of submitted designs. The candidate is required to be

familiar with CAD software.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Able to use CAD software to create detailed architectural and construction drawings with good formatting and presentation
• Handles drafting and designing assignments with supervision and reviews drawings for accuracy and completeness.
• Able to create drawings and models from verbal and written specifications that are obtained from the project engineer
• Works alongside with engineers/designers regarding drafting standards, model design and accuracy, and design documentation.
• Works closely with engineers/designers and other drafters to ensure the maintenance of coordination design efforts. He/She completes project responsibilities within scope, schedule and budget.
• Able to provide timely technical assistance and solutions to the design team and participates in project conference calls and meetings if required.
• To execute project effectively as planned as well as communicating project status and escalating issues to engineering manager when appropriate.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

• 2D CAD drafting across multi-disciplinary areas such as Architectural, Interior Design, Structural, Mechanical, HVAC, Electrical and Audio-Visual
• Ability to produce architectural floor plans, elevations, sectional detail layouts to building standards
• Experience with producing architectural drawings for residential & commercial renovation projects
• Ability to produce engineering detailed diagrams such as schematics, interconnection diagrams etc. - [Preferred but not compulsory]
• 3D Modelling & Rendering
• Familiarity with AutoCAD is compulsory. Additional preferences includes familiarity with one or more of the following softwares: Revit, Sketchup, IronCAD, Solidworks, Maya, 3dsMax.
• Ability to conduct intermediate level graphic design works (i.e. Photoshop, CorelDraw Illustrator) - [Preferred but not compulsory]
• Ability to review engineering and technical documentation, specifications, construction & architectural standards
• Ability to meet and liaise with clients for design meeting discussions and presentations
• Organized, consistent and ability to pay high attention to detail

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma/ Degree in Architecture
• 1-2 years working experience. Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply for this position.
• Good working knowledge of CAD software (or other equivalent CAD software).
• Computer Literate (word processing, spread sheets, data base)
• Ability to communicate in English- both oral and written.

Technical ability and experience is certainly valued and preferable, but not a compulsory
