Main responsibilities:

The main responsibility of the position is to assist in managing corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs, government relations, public relations (media relations), corporate branding, and customer service and communications for the Company.

Tasks:

  • Corporate Social Responsibility (Events Management)
  • Develop and enhance CSR programs implemented by the company; and
  • Organize CSR events at the highest standard, ensuring successful execution from start to finish, aligned with PAAB's CSR pillars and standard operating procedures.
  • Government Relations
  • Assist the Department Head in maintaining strong relationships with relevant Ministries and government officials;
  • Collaborate with the Government for events involving them, such as signings, CSR initiatives, and other events requested by the Ministries; and
  • Engage in discussions and negotiations with relevant government bodies to drive improvements for the company and the industry.
  • Public Relations (Media Relations)
  • Write press releases, press statements, advertorials, and prepare FAQs for press conferences;
  • Maintain an updated media database;
  • Cultivate and nurture positive relationships with the media;
  • Monitor news coverage and evaluate Return on Investment (ROI) from media exposure;
  • Ensure media invitations are sent and facilitate their presence during events; and
  • Conduct orderly press conferences.
  • Social Media
  • Content creator, writer; and
  • Ensure that PAAB’s social media account is always updated with posts, and work to increase our followers and positive engagement.
  • Corporate Branding
  • Ensure consistency, establishment, and recognition of the company's brand through special campaigns and programs; and
  • Contribute innovative ideas to enhance corporate branding efforts.
  • Customer Service and Communications
  • Assist in addressing inquiries received through comms.paab.my promptly;
  • Attend to inquiries received via other channels such as letters, fax, and phone; and
  • Communicate relevant updates from Ministries to all staff, fostering a sense of unity and togetherness.
  • Others
  • Any jobs related as instructed from time to time by the immediate superior and/or the Management.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications or equivalent is required;
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in CSR, Public Relations (Media), Government relations, editorial, social media, corporate branding, customer service, and communications;
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia;
  • Pleasant and vibrant personality;
  • Experience in developing and organizing CSR programs and events;
  • Strong relationship-building skills with Ministries and government officials;
  • Proficiency in writing press releases and maintaining media relations;
  • Knowledge of branding principles and ability to contribute innovative ideas;
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills;
  • Flexibility to handle additional tasks assigned by management;
  • Strong organizational, teamwork, and time management abilities; and
  • Willingness to travel frequently with overnight stays.
