Job Responsibilities:

  • HR Strategy Development & Execution: Collaborate with country and regional HR to develop and implement HR strategies that align with both local regulations and the overarching goals for the region and aligned with Japan HQ. Ensure consistency of HR practice while adapting strategies accordingly
  • Japanese HQ Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for requests from Japan headquarters, including data collection, document preparation, and reporting. Ensure timely and accurate communication of all requests, and proactively address any concerns or queries.
  • Expatriate HR Management: Coordinate monthly management meetings for Japanese expatriates, handling all aspects of logistics, document preparation, and invitations. Ensure the timely submission of performance evaluation for expatriates twice a year that involves thorough documentation and follow-up on evaluation outcomes. Guides and coaches them to be familiar and observe the HR management requirements of the host country.
  • Cross-functional HR Communication: Serve as a key liaison between top management, regional teams, and the local HR team, ensuring that corporate strategies are effectively communicated and translated into actionable initiatives. Facilitate smooth communication to address any challenges or discrepancies between the teams.
  • Compensation & Benefits Management: Oversee assignment, compensation and benefits packages for Japanese expatriates, working closely with the local General Affairs team to ensure compliance with both local and international policies. Responds to questions and acts as liaison on overseas dispatchment benefits for Japanese expatriates.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 7 years of experience in HR, corporate planning, or a related field, with a focus on international HR operations or expatriate management. Previous experience working with Japanese companies or multinational environments is highly desirable.
  • Language Proficiency: Must be fluent in both Japanese and English, with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    o Experience in coordinating performance evaluations and management meetings, with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    o Demonstrate ability to manage cross-functional communication and bridge the gap between top management and local HR teams.
    o Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders from different cultural and professional backgrounds.
    o Strong project management and problem-solving abilities, particularly in handling expatriate and HR-related challenges.
    o Familiarity with Japanese business culture and corporate structures is highly advantageous.
