Mechanical Engineer (Firefighting system)

Megapower Consultants provides both consulting and supervising services for electrical and mechanical system with more than 25 years of experience in various construction projects. Our company undertakes planning, design, cost estimate, adjudication, supervision, management, co-ordination and commissioning of various industrial factories, warehouses, housing, etc.

The candidate will have excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of mechanical engineering disciplines to ensure the application of technical rigor and best practices from conceptualization to execution.

Job Responsibilities:

• To design and implement mechanical building services relevant to Firefighting system, HVAC, Sanitary and Plumbing.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, and relevant authorities on their engineering request.
• To assist in overall project implementation from initial stage to final hand over.
• To attend all project meetings as and when required and to coordinate with clients, architects, consultants, contractors, etc.
• Project management to ensure project is kept on schedule including supervision of work progress, resolve ground issue with contractor and relevant stakeholders.
• Review project cost and provide technical advice to client in projects tendering.

Job Requirements:

Minimum qualifications:

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ year(s) work/applied learning experience in technical fields (Fire Fighting system, Air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical ventilation, plumbing and sanitary system, lifts and escalators etc.).
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply too.
• Able to work independently and liaise effectively with contractors and authorities.
• Familiar with AutoCAD software.
• Good command of English and Malay in speaking, reading, and writing.

Preferred qualifications:

• Strong design experience in firefighting protection system (e.g. sprinkler systems and in-rack sprinkler, foam/ water monitors, etc.)
• Experienced in handling projects in oleochemical plants or industrial factories.
