Job Responsibility

  • Lead the CAD/CAM Programming department in developing, editing, revising, and documenting manufacturing methods and CNC (CAM) programs from various engineering media for high precision 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC Milling Machines.
  • Responsible for all new CAD/CAM programs to support Manufacturing department.
  • To support all the dimensional issues and improvement for manufacturing products.
  • Optimize machining time by shortening cycle time for manufacturing products to reduce machining cost.
  • Responsible for providing guidance, training and support to the CAD/CAM Programmers relating to parts dimension, tolerance, and program designs
  • Responsible for the master scheduling and preparation of the Estimate Complete Date (ECD) for all CAD/CAM programmers for:
    • New products transfer from the Netherlands or various customers.
    • Engineering Change Notice in dimension from various customers.
  • To hold bi-weekly meeting or conference call with the Netherlands’s counterpart on CADCAM programming related issues or program transfer from the Netherlands to Malaysia.
  • To provide support to QA (Quality Assurance) Department on customer returns relating to tolerance and dimension issues.

Accountability

  • Verify dimensions, tolerances, and specifications to ensure the accuracy and quality of all CAD/CAM models, technical drawings, CAD/CAM programs and machining instructions.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline manufacturing processes, minimize waste and enhance efficiency to optimize cost-effectiveness and performance.
  • Actively participating in design reviews, process improvements and continuous optimization initiatives by identifying areas for improvement, proposing solutions, and implementing changes to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to the CAD/CAM team by sharing knowledge, best practices, and technical expertise to build a skilled and capable team.
  • Adhere to regulatory requirements and industry best practices to maintain product quality and safety and ensure compliance with relevant quality management systems and standards i.e., ISO 9001, AS 9100 and ISO 13485.
  • Lead projects and initiatives by setting clear objectives, managing resources, and driving results to meet project deadlines and deliverables.

  • To determine design for assigned part/product as required by customers’ specifications.

Job Requirement

  • Diploma or Degree in Precision Manufacturing or specialized technical training in CAD / CAM or equivalent; or 6 to 8 years of related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge in CAM programming, CAM support and machining.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in people management and master schedule planning for new transfer development and project transfer.
  • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Problem solving skills.
  • A good understanding of ISO9001, AS9100 and ISO13485.
  • Strong background in CNC programming by using Mastercam or Edge CAM.
  • Able to set up a 3-axis, 4-axis and vertical 5-axis CNC milling machine in high-speed machining.
