The Compliance and Risk Management Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the business while maintaining strict adherence to regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and enhance internal policies and procedures to ensure that all organizational practices align with the latest regulatory standards and best practices, fostering a culture of compliance and operational excellence.
• To implement compliance programs to address all relevant regulatory and business licensing requirements.
• Possesses knowledge of and adheres to the guidelines outlined on the Securities Commission website relevant to the P2P lending business, ensuring compliance with market regulations.
• Ensure the company complies with all applicable local laws, including the Guidelines on Recognized Markets and AML/CFT guidelines.
• Setting up procedures and overseeing the implementation of comprehensive KYC/CDD, AML, Sanctions, PEP, Data Privacy, Cybersecurity etc.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential compliance issues.
• Assess and mitigate various risks, including credit risk, liquidity risk, and operational risk.
• Develop and implement risk management strategies to protect the company’s financial stability.
• Monitor market trends and economic indicators to identify potential risks.
• Develop and lead incident response plans for compliance breaches or security incidents.
• Ensure all commercial agreements are beneficial and not detrimental to the company’s interests.
• Working closely with the finance team to develop and manage the company’s budget, forecast financial performance, and prepare financial reports. Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making by the executive team.
• Ensure compliance with Malaysian tax regulations, including preparation and submission of tax returns.
• Prepare and submit regular compliance reports to regulatory authorities as required by law.
• Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, audits, and corrective actions taken, as stipulated by regulatory bodies.
• Prepare regular reports on financial performance, compliance status, and risk management activities.
• Provide timely and accurate information to management and stakeholders.
• Act as the primary point of contact with regulatory bodies and legal counsel regarding compliance matters.

Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Business related or any other related field. KYC / Compliance Certification is advantageous.
• Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years in legal, risk, and compliance roles, ideally within financial services, banking or peer-to-peer lending sectors.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of Malaysian regulatory requirements, particularly in financial services and peer-to-peer (P2P) lending.
• Skills: Excellent analytical and communication skills. Ability to work independently and make critical decisions.
• Language: Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin or other local languages are a plus.
