Facilities Management Technician (Data Center)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the assigned data centers' facility operations.
  • Regular physical / visual inspection of equipment and data center operations facilities.
  • Work with DCE to create procedure and risk analysis for site operation.
  • Liaise with DC Providers for all Mechanical & Electrical maintenance servicing affecting Data Halls.
  • Collate and review all Data Centers' Maintenance Schedule, ensure minimal interference during Block Days.
  • Review documents submitted by DC Providers such as MOP, RA, etc for maintenance activities.
  • Track and record facility maintenance activities and change requests.
  • Raise and manage Change Management requests for all maintenance servicing activities.
  • Provide onsite support during scheduled maintenance / change events.
  • Provide regular reporting on progress as required (move, change, support request and change) and develop continuous improvement capabilities.
  • Respond to facilities level crisis management activities including, but not limited to, power outages, HVAC outages, fire alarms and security concerns.
  • Provide after business hours support based on on-call schedule when required.
  • Any other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in data centre facilities management and operations.
  • Good understanding and knowledge in data center infrastructure (electrical and mechanical systems , HVAC, power outages, fire alarms, etc).
  • Ability to respond to issues and provide timely progress updates, and escalations.
  • Experience working in a large-scale critical environment is a plus.
  • Analytical skills with a strong sense of urgency.
  • An agile mindset with the right attitude and ability to think out of the box are welcome too.

Advantageous Skills & Knowledge

  • Rack, space, power and cooling allocations for new install or relocation requests.
  • Data Center Operations or exposure in Critical Environments.
  • Incident / Change Management Process.
  • Understanding of DC Space, Power, Cooling Management.
  • Certifications eg. CDCP, CDCS, FSM, etc.
