Electrical Engineer

Job Description

• Manage the projects to ensure quality work and delivery of projects on time and within budget.
• Prepare detailed sizing calculations for Transformers, Generators, UPS, Battery, Cable, Cable tray/trench/duct, Lighting, capacitor bank, earthing & lightning to ensure adequacy of the design
• Develop electrical design basis, and installation specifications for microelectronics, semiconductor manufacturing facilities, datacentres, pharma plants and buildings.
• Design & develop MV/LV single line diagrams, control schematics and major electrical layouts (substation, equipment cable/trench, busduct, duct bank,etc.) from conceptual to IFC stage.
• Skills in computer simulation software relevant to engineering design are preferred.
• Perform power system studies such as load flow, short circuit, motor starting, relay coordination and arc flash to ensure system reliability.
• Ensure designs adhered to IEC, IEEE, NEC, NFPA, BS, Shell and local codes and standards.
• Develop Testing & commissioning documents for LV/MV/HV switchboards, Generator DDCPS and VFD’s.
• Interfaced closely with process, instrumentation, civil, structural, mechanical & architectural disciplines to meet project requirements.
• Good understanding and experience working with authorities.
• Experience in BIM will be an added advantage.
• Liaise with clients and ensure client satisfaction is maintained.
• Project administration and a good understanding of contractual matters
• Conduct technical discussions on common design matters with clients.

Job Requirement

• Degree in Electrical Engineering. Post-graduate degree in a relevant discipline is an advantage.
• Experience in Renewable Energy ie., Solar Power will be an added advantage.
• Design experience in HV, MV and LV power distribution, lighting, small power, earthing, lightning protection, SCADA, renewable energy, extra low voltage system, public address system, telecommunications system, security system, etc.
• Excellent understanding of the Code of Practice and local authority submission process
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to engage multi-disciplinary teams in mega projects to achieve results for the clients.
• Those with registration as a Professional Engineer with a Practicing Certificate (PEPC) or Professional Engineer (PE) will be an added advantage.
