Job Summary: The Base Manager at Sigma Water Engineering (M) S/B is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation and maintenance of the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Kulim.

This role ensures compliance with environmental regulations, manages staff, and optimizes treatment processes to deliver high-quality wastewater treatment services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Oversight:
  • Manage daily operations of the wastewater treatment facility.
  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian environmental regulations and standards.
  • Monitor and adjust treatment processes to maintain optimal performance.
  • Staff Management:
  • Supervise, train, and develop plant personnel.
  • Create and manage staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and facilitate staff development initiatives.
  • Maintenance and Safety:
  • Oversee maintenance of plant equipment and infrastructure.
  • Implement and monitor safety programs to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies and develop effective contingency plans.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Prepare and submit compliance reports to regulatory authorities.
  • Maintain accurate records of operations, maintenance, and safety inspections.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to regulations and standards.
  • Budget Management:
  • Assist in developing and managing the operational budget for the facility.
  • Monitor financial performance and identify areas for cost reduction.
  • Coordinate procurement of supplies and materials as needed.
  • Community Engagement:
  • Act as a liaison between the plant and the local community.
  • Address public inquiries and concerns related to plant operations.
  • Participate in community outreach and education programs about wastewater treatment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in wastewater treatment operations.
  • Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and technologies.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience in managing teams.
  • Certification as a Wastewater Treatment Operator is preferred.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications for operations and reporting.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment and under pressure.

Working Conditions:

  • May require shift work, including weekends and on-call responsibilities.
  • Exposure to outdoor elements and potentially hazardous materials.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM8,500.00 per month

Schedule:

  • Day shift

Supplemental Pay:

  • Yearly bonus
