Seafood Production Worker

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cut various types of seafood according to company specifications.
• Ensure proper portioning and trimming of seafood to minimize waste.
• Maintain consistency in the quality of fish cutting, including deboning, filleting, and skinning.
• Assist in production by arranging the repacking of raw materials and producing quality products, including weighing and re-packing goods.
• Inspect seafood for defects such as bruising or damage, and remove any substandard portions.
• Ensure products meet the required quality standards for presentation and freshness.
• Follow strict hygiene practices, including cleaning and sanitizing work areas, tools, and equipment.
• Adhere to all safety protocols to prevent injuries or accidents during the cutting process.
• Properly dispose of fish waste and ensure that workstations are cleaned after each shift.
• Use appropriate tools such as knives, filleting machines, or saws for fish cutting.
• Report any equipment issues to the supervisor for timely maintenance.
• Assist in monitoring inventory levels and report any shortages in seafood or supplies to the supervisor.
• Help in receiving and storing seafood deliveries, ensuring that freshness is maintained during storage.
• Work as part of the production team to meet daily targets and deadlines.
• Communicate effectively with other team members and supervisors regarding any production issues or concerns.

Qualifications:

• Minimum SPM, high school diploma, or equivalent.
• Prior experience in fish cutting, food production, or similar roles is preferred.
• Strong knife skills with the ability to handle fish efficiently.
• Knowledge of seafood species and cutting techniques, such as filleting and deboning.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Ability to stand for long periods and work in cold environments, such as refrigerated areas.
• Capable of lifting heavy fish or supplies, up to 25kg.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math and communication skills.
