About the role
Education & Experience
You will be working in Malaysia and will be part of the finance controllership team of Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) division of CBRE, reporting to GWS Pacific Financial Controller.
As a Financial Specialist, you will be responsible for accounting activities relating to accounting, tax filing, audit, financial and regulatory reporting, and control enhancement for all Australia and New Zealand GWS entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver key accounting tasks to ensure a timely month end close in accordance with US GAAP and to meet Group reporting requirements.
- Prepare and post monthly journals as well as ad-hoc journals as required.
- Provide support for quarterly US disclosure requests in relation to the Pacific business.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting records and financial systems, as well as identify opportunities to enhance process efficiencies.
- Work closely with KL Business Support Outsourcing (CBRE’s Shared Services Centre) for Account receivables, Account payables, intercompany, GL, account reconciliations processes and cashflow management.
- Ensure timely and accurate Balance Sheet reconciliations are delivered and in compliance with SOX control requirements.
- Timely responses to queries from various stakeholders related to the financial or controllership information of the Company.
- Coordinate and liaise with external parties including external auditors, tax agents, corporate secretarial agents, local tax and government authorities to meet compliance obligations.
- Team player and contribution to the Pacific Controller Function.
- Positively respond to both our internal and external parties through effective and regular communication.
- Have thorough knowledge of procedures and processes and delivery of these based on requirements.
- Constantly seek to improve quality, service and efficiency.
- Proactively engages in process improvement projects/ global initiatives.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Possess ~5 years of working experience in the relevant field.
- Experience in Audit or Big Four would be advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail, organised and methodical in work approach, and ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure and on time.
- Self-motivated, reliable, pro-active, and professional.
- Able to adapt to fast-paced environment.
- Able to comprehend, analyse, and interpret complex financial information and transactions and accounting principles.
- Strong knowledge of financial terms, concepts and accounting principles and the ability to comprehend and interpret complex financial transactions.
- Strong computer skills, including specific knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
