Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and encourage accurate record keeping and control through filing system, Maintenance Management Program and Building Management System.
  • Ensure an effective “Back up” routine for all electronic data associated with the departments administration.
  • Prepare reports associated with Operations and maintenance as appropriate.
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of maintenance manuals and drawings.
  • Assist with preparation of critical spares and equipment inventory.
  • Carry out annual appraisals of department staff.
  • Be fully conversant with the department business plan and assist with preparation and revisions as required.
  • Be financially aware and actively involved in the cost effective control of the department MEP/Operations and Maintenance.
  • Expedite cost effective contract services and spares parts inventory.
  • Monitor associated expenses and maintain financial procedures as determined by Financial Controller.
  • Administer and further develop the Building Management System.
  • Control and monitor utility consumption and actively encourage energy conservation strategies within all departments of the Hotel.
  • Determine the energy efficiency of plant and equipment and make recommendations for improvement or replacement as appropriate.
  • Prepare monitor and administer daily MEP logs and prepare utility consumption reports as required.
  • Ensure correct calibration of energy measurement and control equipment and respond proactively to variations.
  • Be actively involved in the Energy Conservation Committee.
  • Coordinate, delegate and supervise Operations and maintenance activities of the department.
  • Using the job administration program, schedule and efficiently utilize available staff and contractors.
  • Regularly inspect all plant areas, switch rooms, kitchens, laundry and associated areas for efficient operation, condition and cleanliness.
  • Regularly inspect public areas and guestrooms.
  • Coordinate and supervise special projects or FF&E initiatives and actively develop the use of outside contractors.
  • Prepare shift rosters and training programs as required.
  • Expand and initiate preventative maintenance programs and building automatic control system.
  • Conduct daily engineering briefing to satisfy business demands.
  • Assist the Security Manager to control and administer the hotel lock and key policy.
  • Continually assist with improvement to the operation and maintenance.
  • Conduct training courses for hotel employees in life safety and emergency procedures.
  • Be aware of statutory legislation relating to Health, Safety and Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Ensure all employees have a complete understanding of requirements with regard to duties in the event of an emergency.
  • In association with the manufacturers formulate and initiate a safe elevator emergency procedure and conduct emergency release training of selected employees.
  • Carry out a regular inspection schedule and testing of Safety and Fire Protection Equipment.
  • Ensure effective monitoring and recording of kitchen hood and laundry ventilation ducts.
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the immediate superior as and when necessary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to RM10,000.00 per month
