Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to lead their food distribution operations in Malaysia. He/She should be independent and entrepreneurial in attitude. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Malaysian food market, a proven track record in foodservice and retail sales, and strong expertise in logistics and supply chain management. This role requires a strategic thinker with an ability to zoom in on operational details. A person with the confidence and commitment to drive business growth.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development:

•Lead and manage the sales team to achieve ambitious revenue and profitability targets.

•Oversee the development and execution of effective sales and marketing campaigns.

•Negotiate contracts and agreements with customers and suppliers.

Operations & Logistics:

•Ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation of the entire supply chain, from procurement and warehousing to transportation and delivery.

•Implement robust inventory management systems to optimize stock levels and minimize waste.

Team Leadership:

•Build, develop, and motivate a high-performing team.

•Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

•Provide coaching, mentorship, and training to team members.

Financial Management:

•Manage the budget and P&L for the Malaysian operation.

•Analyze financial performance and identify areas for improvement.

Candidate Profile

•Degree in Business Management.

•Minimum 8-10 years of experience in the food distribution industry, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.

•In-depth knowledge of the Malaysian food market, including consumer preferences, regulatory landscape, and competitive dynamics.

•Proven experience in both foodservice and retail sales.

•Strong understanding of logistics, supply chain management, and inventory control.

•Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

•Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
