Internship - Management Accounting (January/March 2025 Intake)

Education required: BS degree from an accredited college/university, preferably in Finance/Accounting/Business Administration/Economics discipline.

Other requirements: Must be enrolled at a MY university for the duration of your internship / Credit-bearing internship is preferred

Language requirement: Written and spoken fluency in English

Internship period: Jan 2025 – Jun/July 2025 or Mar 2025 – Sept 2025

What will you do?

• Maintenance of inventory master data.

• Accounting of goods in transit.

• Calculation of purchase price variance.

• Execute month end close steps in accordance with month end close checklist (MEC) and SOP’s.

• Responsible in the preparation of journal entries, preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and execution of internal control in accordance with GSK Internal Control Framework.

• Execute transaction interfaces between ERP systems; extraction of reports from ERP and Bison.

• Raise and post journal entries.

• Inventory reports.

• Manufacturing overhead reports, OPEX.

• Data collection for monthly and quarterly corporate reports.

• Provide support to analyst members within the team thereby ensuring quality is maintained.

• Data collection (KPI) to measure customer service levels.

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

• Other ad-hoc activities like participate in any compliance audits and respond to audit queries

What will you learn?

• Obtain high level overview of the month end close activities and reconciliations.

• Obtain high level overview of control in accordance with GSK Internal Control Framework.

• Collaborate with team members and other stakeholders to ensure successful SMAS month-end processes for manufacturing sites, including inventory, purchase price variations, and Opex.

• Educational background – Accounting/Finance degree.Proficient in use of IT and software/systems, especially Excel skills.
