Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Clerk to provide administrative support to our law firm. The Legal Clerk will be responsible for handling clerical duties, assisting lawyers with case management, maintaining legal documents, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Document Management:
  • Prepare, proofread, and organize legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence.
  • File and maintain both physical and electronic case files, ensuring they are up-to-date and accessible.
  • Assist in drafting simple legal documents as required.
  • Court and Case Management:
  • Schedule appointments, court hearings, and meetings with clients, lawyers, and third parties.
  • Ensure timely filing of documents with the court or other legal authorities.
  • Assist with trial preparations, including organizing exhibits, evidence, and court bundles.
  • Client Communication:
  • Liaise with clients regarding case updates, document collection, and general inquiries.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and ensure proper handling of sensitive information.
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Answer phone calls, take messages, and manage incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Assist in billing and invoicing clients for legal services.
  • Maintain office supplies and assist with other administrative tasks as needed.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a law firm or legal environment is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with legal terminology and document preparation.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism in handling confidential information.

Qualifications:

  • A diploma or degree in law, legal studies, or related field is preferred.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in an administrative or clerical role, ideally within a law firm.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
