Accountant

Job Overview:

An accountant is responsible for managing and analyzing financial data, ensuring accuracy in financial records, and preparing reports. Accountants help organizations maintain proper financial health, comply with regulations, and provide insights for decision-making. They work closely with management to optimize costs, manage budgets, and ensure tax compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Recordkeeping:
• Maintain and update financial ledgers, journals, and records.
• Record all financial transactions including income, expenses, liabilities, and assets.

Preparation of Financial Statements:

• Prepare accurate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Ensure reports are in compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Assist in the development and monitoring of organizational budgets.
• Provide financial forecasts based on historical data and current trends.

Tax Compliance and Reporting:

• Prepare and file tax returns for the organization.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws.
• Identify opportunities for tax deductions and credits to reduce the company’s tax burden.

Auditing and Internal Controls:

• Perform internal audits to ensure the integrity of financial systems and adherence to internal controls.
• Work with external auditors to facilitate annual audits.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy.

Financial Analysis and Recommendations:

• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost reduction.
• Provide management with actionable insights for business decision-making.

Compliance and Regulation:

• Keep up-to-date with changes in tax laws, regulations, and accounting practices.

Software Management:

• Utilize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP) to manage financial data and automate processes.
• Ensure proper software integrations and data security.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar certification (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
• Can make a full set of accounts
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Ability to communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From RM2,350.00 per month
