Merchandiser

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage merchandise plans to align with company financial goals.
• Forecast sales, inventory needs, and replenishment strategies based on historical data and market trends.
• Collaborate with buying teams to create seasonal buying plans and ensure product assortment meets customer demand.
• Allocate merchandise to retail locations based on sales performance, store capacity, and location-specific preferences.
• Monitor inventory levels and adjust allocations to optimize inventory distribution and minimize stockouts and overstock situations.
• Implement allocation strategies to support promotional events, new product launches, and seasonal trends.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels by managing the replenishment process.
• Analyse sales data and inventory reports to identify replenishment needs and initiate reorders.
• Work with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of merchandise to stores.
• Generate and analyse sales, inventory, and performance reports to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
• Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management and cross-functional teams.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and track progress against targets.
• Collaborate with merchandising, buying, marketing, and supply chain teams to align strategies and achieve business objectives.
• Communicate allocation plans and inventory updates to store operations and retail teams.
• Participate in regular meetings to discuss sales performance, inventory status, and upcoming initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Retail Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in merchandise planning, allocation, or a related role in the retail industry.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, or similar).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Familiarity with retail inventory management systems and software.
