Role: Test Engineer – Data (Azure services)

Location: KL, Malaysia

Summary:

• As a Test Engineer, you will be instrumental in executing comprehensive testing strategies and plans for data solutions deployed on Azure Databricks.
• You will design, execute, and analyze automated tests to ensure the quality, reliability, and scalability of our data solutions.
• We are looking for individuals who “Do the right thing”, are Open and Transparent, and want to build and work within our Global Technology Product team.
• This role will support the Data Workstream in delivering quality assurance for data pipelines, databases, and data integration processes on cloud platforms.

Must have:

• Manual testing - Knowledge in software testing (e.g., ISTQB).
• Strong knowledge in SQL.
• Experience with basic insurance processes, insurance, and re-insurance operations.
• Experience with IFRS17 and insurance processes.
• Familiarity with investment, payroll, procurement, and expense allocation processes.
• Jira & Xray for test management and defect management.

Required skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in test automation using Selenium, Python, or Java.
• Strong understanding of data testing methodologies, data warehousing concepts, and Azure services (e.g., Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database).
• Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute test plans and test cases for data solutions deployed on Azure, including data pipelines, databases, and data integration processes.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium, Python, or Java.
• Implement and manage test automation frameworks and tools to improve testing efficiency and coverage for data solutions.
• Conduct performance testing to ensure data solutions meet performance and scalability requirements.
• Collaborate with data engineers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements, identify testing needs, and address issues throughout the development lifecycle.
• Participate in the continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipeline to integrate automated tests.
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and work with developers to resolve issues.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
• Create and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test reports, ensuring comprehensive documentation of testing activities and results.
