Position Summary

The Facilities & Safety Technician is responsible for ensuring the safety, functionality, and environmental compliance of the company's facilities. This role involves maintaining building systems, managing safety and environmental protocols, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Primary Responsibilities

Environment, Health and Safety

  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety management programs to ensure compliance with local Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulatory requirements, Department of Environment (DOE) regulations, and company policies.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining emergency response plans, conduct drills, and provide training to ensure a safe and prepared work environment.
  • Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a safety culture and provide guidance on best practices.
  • Assist in investigating incidents, accidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Support the Engineering team during the Installation Qualification phase to assess safety risks using tools such as Process Safety Audits (PSA), Job Hazard Assessments (JHA), and Safety Risk Assessments (SRA).
  • Manage schedule waste disposal, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to environmental standards.
  • Handle chemical management, including storage, usage, and disposal in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Coordinate and arrange audiometric tests for employees as required, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety standards.

Facility Management

  • Support the day-to-day operations of company facilities, ensuring a safe, efficient, and well-maintained work environment.
  • Collaborate external vendors to schedule and perform routine maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and other relevant standards.
  • Assist in regular Preventive Maintenance (PM) inspection, maintenance, and consumable replacement of compressed air systems, clean room air conditioning systems, ice pumps, and related equipment.
  • Handle the scheduling and management of hazardous waste, ensuring compliance with local regulations and environmental standards.

Preferred Qualifications

Education:

  • Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health, Facility Management, Maintenance Management or relevant field.

Experience:

  • More than 1 - 3 years of scheduled waste management experience.

Other Requirements:

  • Preferably with Certified Environmental Professional in Scheduled Waste Management (CePSWaM).
  • Knowledge of OSHA and DOE regulations and experience in handling schedule waste and chemicals.
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S.
  • Experience in manufacturing operations is a plus.
  • Experience in fire system maintenance and authority regulations.
  • Knowledgeable in energy emissions (ST) regulations on electrical inspection.
