Job Summary: Join MSR Green Energy as we lead the way in renewable energy with cutting-edge, sustainable solutions. We are seeking a dedicated Quality Control (“QC”) Inspector with a focus on electrical systems and components. This two (2) year contract role will be site-based in Sabah. As an Electrical QC Inspector, you will ensure that all electrical aspects of our RE projects meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, from installation to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive inspections of electrical systems, equipment, and installations, ensuring they meet technical specifications, electrical codes, and safety standards
  • Verify that all electrical components (e.g., inverters, cables, switchgears, transformers) are installed correctly and function as intended, in line with project designs and regulatory requirements
  • Inspection of electrical installation panels, terminations, cable routing & cable tray installations
  • Review and inspection of all electrical materials, prior to installation
  • Perform quality checks on electrical materials and workmanship, identifying any deviations from project standards or industry codes (such as MS/IEC, BS)
  • Supervise testing and commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and performance criteria before system handover
  • Identify and document non-conformance issues related to electrical installations, and work with engineering and project management teams to develop corrective measures
  • Review the submitted Electrical Inspection and Test Plans (“EITPs”), ensuring all procedures for testing electrical installations are followed and documented
  • Collaborate with electrical contractors and project engineers to resolve any electrical quality control issues that arise during construction or installation phases
  • Conduct regular audits of electrical work practices to ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate quality inspection records related to electrical systems, ensuring all findings and corrective actions are properly documented
  • Participate in the final acceptance inspections of electrical systems to confirm they meet required quality standards, safety regulations, and performance expectations before project closeout

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Quality Control, or a related field
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in quality control or assurance in the electrical sector, ideally with experience in utility (MV/HV) or RE projects
  • Strong knowledge of electrical safety regulations, industry standards (MS/IEC, BS), and best practices
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high quality and safety standards in electrical installations
  • Experience with electrical testing tools (e.g., multimeters, insulation resistance testers, power analysers) and interpreting test results
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills, with the ability to document and relay quality findings effectively
  • Ability to work collaboratively with engineering and project teams, with a proactive approach to solving electrical quality issues
  • Proficiency in standard office tools (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical) is beneficial
