City University Malaysia is seeking an experienced and dynamic Finance Manager to lead the financial operations of the institution. The Finance Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the university by overseeing budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate should possess strong financial management skills, strategic thinking, and a commitment to the highest standards of financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning and Budgeting:
- Develop and oversee the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads.
- Monitor budget performance and provide timely reports and analysis to senior management.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and university policies.
- Communicate financial results to relevant stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.
- Cash Flow Management:
- Manage and forecast cash flow to meet operational needs.
- Implement strategies to optimize cash management and working capital.
- Financial Controls and Compliance:
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard university assets.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, tax laws, and financial reporting standards.
- Financial Analysis and Decision Support:
- Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management for resource allocation and investment decisions.
- Audit Coordination:
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
- Implement audit recommendations to strengthen financial controls.
- Team Leadership:
- Provide leadership and direction to the finance team.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Conduct performance evaluations and facilitate professional development for team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CMA, CPA) is preferred.
- Proven experience in financial management, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
- Familiarity with Malaysian financial regulations and tax laws.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM4,919.71 - RM7,736.06 per month
