ASSISTANT MANAGER FINANCE

City University Malaysia is seeking an experienced and dynamic Finance Manager to lead the financial operations of the institution. The Finance Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the university by overseeing budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Planning and Budgeting:
• Develop and oversee the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads.
• Monitor budget performance and provide timely reports and analysis to senior management.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
• Financial Reporting:
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and university policies.
• Communicate financial results to relevant stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.
• Cash Flow Management:
• Manage and forecast cash flow to meet operational needs.
• Implement strategies to optimize cash management and working capital.
• Financial Controls and Compliance:
• Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard university assets.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, tax laws, and financial reporting standards.
• Financial Analysis and Decision Support:
• Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management for resource allocation and investment decisions.
• Audit Coordination:
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
• Implement audit recommendations to strengthen financial controls.
• Team Leadership:
• Provide leadership and direction to the finance team.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Conduct performance evaluations and facilitate professional development for team members.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CMA, CPA) is preferred.
• Proven experience in financial management, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
• Familiarity with Malaysian financial regulations and tax laws.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM4,919.71 - RM7,736.06 per month
