Job Purpose

The storekeeper is responsible for the maintenance of a restaurant’s storeroom, performing activities such as stocking of operational materials and supplies, inventory control and records, purchasing, and related duties as required.

Main Responsibilities

The primary tasks, duties, and responsibilities that commonly make up the storekeeper job description are listed below:

  • Place daily orders with suppliers before the cut-off time
  • Take delivery of all incoming materials and reconcile with purchase orders
  • Ensure accuracy of the restaurant’s inventory system by updating records of physical inventory totals, receipts, adjustments, and returns
  • Submit accurate reports to the client by the given timeline
  • Track, document, and resolve any discrepancies on received orders
  • Manage inventory/supplies and ensure they are within the established minimum and maximum levels
  • Ensure restocking levels are maintained
  • Keep up-to-date records of receipts, records, and withdrawals from the stockroom
  • Responsible for packing, pricing, labeling, and returning supplies
  • Responsible for stock rotation and coordinate the disposal of surpluses
  • Responsible for the asset records
  • Manage supplier relations and database as well as maintain high ethical relationships both internally and externally
  • Create / cross check that the purchase orders are executed accurately

Requirements

  • Education: At least high school or diploma
  • Language: Must be proficient in English and Mandarin, written, read and spoken
  • Knowledge: Working knowledge of storekeeping, general warehousing, and familiarity with issuing, stocking, ordering and receiving parts/supplies, and understanding of cycle counts on inventory.
  • Energetic: The job of a storekeeper requires some physical labor, so it is vital that they can lift 20kg unaided
  • Computer skill: Applicants are required to have some computer skills to work with computerized inventory system and data entry skills in Microsoft Excel to update the inventory control system
  • Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively with the team and the vendors.
