Roots by Kebun Kota is a café-restaurant in Kuantan, Pahang, Malaysia. The café operates on the principle that sustainability is an attitude. Thus, we encourage sustainable practices in all throughout our management and operational chain. We sell food and beverage products made from locally and organically grown produce. Besides that, we also help local entrepreneurs sell their handmade products as part of our vendor scheme. Job Title: Cafe Floor Manager

Job Description:

• Assist in customer service, waitressing and taking orders
• Supervise daily operations of the cafe to ensure smooth service and a positive customer experience.
• Lead, train, and motivate front-of-house staff to deliver high standards of customer service.
• Manage staff schedules, shifts, and task assignments to optimize productivity.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure stock availability.
• Handle customer complaints and feedback, ensuring prompt resolution and satisfaction.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, as well as hygiene standards.
• Assist with cash handling, sales tracking, and basic financial reporting.
• Collaborate with the cafe owner and kitchen team to implement promotions or menu changes.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming cafe environment.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Preferably a woman as we have a majority woman led team.
• 1-2 years work experience in a managerial role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a cafe or restaurant setting
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
• Strong understanding of cafe operations, including food and beverage preparation, inventory management, and customer service.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with customers and team members.
• Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, make decisions under pressure, and handle challenging situations with professionalism.
• Able to work under minimal supervision
• Basic knowledge of POS systems and cash handling procedures.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,300.00 per month
