ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT

We are seeking 2 positions who should be talented, detailed-oriented and self-driven individual to join our team and play an important role in the day-to-day accounting operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and assist in the smooth operation of the finance department.

POSITION 1 (ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE) – RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ownership of AR sub-ledger, cash application, and reconciliation.
  • Collections and follow-up with clients on receivables, facilitate & liaise internally and escalate as necessary.
  • AR reporting and distribution of aging report, statement of accounts (SOA) in a timely manner.
  • Assist in month-end closing, download bank statements, annual audit, and bank reconciliation.
  • Work with business team(s) to generate Debit / Credit note as needed, ensuring controls are maintained and issues resolved in a timely manner.
  • Document and maintain proper accounts receivable processes, controls, and procedures.
  • Check GRPO and factory invoice provided by shipping and generate AP invoice in SAP.
  • Travel & Entertainment reporting from expense platform and process as necessary.
  • Ad hoc queries and analysis as required.

REQUIRED SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related business field
  • Professional Accounting Qualification or student member (is a plus)
  • Minimum 2-4 years accounts receivable or general accounting experience (trading or import and export industry is a plus)
  • Proactive with willingness to learn and adopt a continual improvement mindset.
  • Strong communication skills, and ability to lead meetings and group discussions.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English & Chinese.
  • Ability to multi-task within a high-pressure environment while meeting strict deadlines and switching between day-to-day operations and problem solving.
  • Experience in ERP systems (SAP Business One would be strong advantage)
  • High proficiency in Office, and strong working knowledge of Excel.
  • Detail-oriented, sensitive to numbers and analytically minded.
  • Entrepreneurial and independent.
  • Problem solver instead of problem identifier.

POSITION 2 – RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Handle all rounded accounting operation and full set of accounts independently
  • Review AR cash application and Debit Note/Credit Note generation
  • Perform weekly financial reports and month-end closing in an accurate manner in accordance with deadline to meet management and reporting needs
  • Analyze financial information and provide added value to management decision
  • Liaise with various departments and outsiders, auditor, banker, IT provider, etc.
  • Assist in year end closing and annual audit
  • Develop and maintain proper accounting controls and procedures of the group
  • Handle monthly payroll inclusive of related T&E claims, and commission calculations and disbursements
  • Handle ad hoc assignments as required

REQUIRED SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or related disciplines
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in full set of accounting books and treasury function, in trading or import and export industry is preferable
  • High proficiency in MS Office, strong in MS EXCEL
  • Knowledge and experience with ERP workflow are MUST, SAP Business One would be an advantage
  • Good command of both written and spoken in English and Chinese
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, analytical mind and problem-solving skills, team player, good communication skill
  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadline
