Job Summary:
The Safety Supervisor (with Environment Experience) will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the safety of all demolition activities on-site, while ensuring compliance with environment regulations. This position will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing and monitoring safety protocols to mitigate risks and protect workers, equipment and the environment. The ideal candidate will have both safety management experience and knowledge of environmental protection regulations and practices, with a strong background in construction / demolition projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act from DOSH and liaise with regulatory bodies and maintain necessary safety documentation.
  • Conduct safety inspections, audits and risk assessments on demolition sites to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor safety management plans and protocols in accordance with industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and monitor hazardous materials including proper disposal and spill to mitigate the environmental impact of demolition activities.
  • Work closely with site managers, project teams, consultants, sub-contractors, and site workers to ensure that safety and environmental regulations and consideration are integrated into day-to-day project activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety performance metrics and environmental compliance.
  • Prepare and submit safety and environmental reports to management and relevant authorities as required.
  • Provide training and mentorship to site personnel on safety and environmental best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Must possess a valid Yellow Book certification from DOSH.
  • Certified Environmental Practitioner (CePSWaM) is a must.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in safety supervision and environmental management, preferably strong background in construction / demolition safety management and environment compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of Malaysian safety regulations, environmental laws, and ISO 14001 and 45001 standards.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to lead safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, good command in English (written and verbal) is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant software.
  • Able to travel to various project sites within Klang valley and outstation. Own transportation is essential.
