  • The role will be based in Malaysia with regular travelling around Southeast Asian and eventually other sites overseas.

PrimaryKey Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy for existing and emerging/new customers and sectors in line with the Company’s Medium Term strategic plan.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities and customer requirements and drive general product developments focusing on the utility, industrial, and infrastructure sectors.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments in the medium voltage switchgear business.
  • Coordinate and carryout promotional activities in the target markets to facilitate introduction of new products.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key accounts, focus on government utility, industrial clients, and contractors involved in infrastructure projects.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for major clients, ensuring their needs are met with our Client.
  • Initiate demonstrations and/or trial orders with major customers to gain experience and pre-qualification.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and support to ensure the team is well-versed in product solutions and industry trends.
  • Monitor team performance, provide regular feedback, and ensure alignment with company objectives.
  • Collaborate with global and regional marketing teams to align sales strategies with marketing initiatives, product launches, and brand positioning
  • Prepare and manage the sales budget for the Malaysian region, ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with financial objectives.
  • Track key sales metrics, profitability, and performance against targets, providing regular reports to senior management.
  • Implement cost-saving measures and identify areas for improving operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate with operations and finance teams to ensure smooth sales processes, from pricing and contracts to delivery and post-sales support.
  • Ensure that all sales activities comply with Malaysian regulations, industry standards, and our Client’s internal policies.
  • Provide regular sales performance reports, market insights, and forecasts to the global leadership team.
  • Stay informed about changes in local laws, regulations, and business practices that may impact sales operations.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
  • Bachelor Engineering Degree, preferably in Electrical (Power) Engineering
  • Extensive commercial and sales experience within a technical environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of contract law and terms and conditions
  • Ability to negotiate contracts and close orders leading to profitable business for our Client.
  • Detailed knowledge of both low voltage and medium voltage switchgear products and automation systems down.
  • Previous experience of Sales Director or Senior Sales Manager in the electrical sector.
  • Excellent understanding of the key business issues in end user accounts
  • Strong understanding of costing and setting prices to return agreed GM.
  • Familiarity with CRM Systems, preferably Microsoft D365 or similar
  • Fluency in Bahasa Malay & English (Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, international team environment).
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent in MS Office and computer literacy.
  • Excellent reporting and presentation skills.
  • 6+ Years within similar industry or role.
