  • Create and optimize process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) specific to oil and gas operations.
  • Specify and select process equipment, ensuring compatibility with the harsh conditions often present in oil and gas environments.

Project Management:

  • Manage and oversee process engineering projects from conceptual design through to detailed engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
  • Coordinate with project teams, including contractors, vendors, and other engineering disciplines, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Monitor project schedules, and budgets, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.

Process Optimization & Troubleshooting:

  • Analyze and improve existing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce operational costs, and increase production capacity.
  • Troubleshoot process-related issues, implementing corrective actions to ensure operational continuity and safety.
  • Perform simulations and risk assessments to anticipate potential problems and optimize process performance.

Safety & Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure all processes comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations specific to the oil and gas industry.
  • Develop and implement process safety management (PSM) systems, including HAZOP studies, safety reviews, and incident investigations.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to industry standards and facilitate audits and inspections.

Technical Leadership & Mentorship:

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve operations.
  • Lead or contribute to research and development initiatives focused on new technologies or process innovations in the oil and gas sector.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, ensuring alignment on project objectives and process requirements.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, documentation, and presentations to management and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field as minimum.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in process engineering within the oil and gas industry, with exposure to both onshore and offshore operations.
  • Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II) and CAD tools.
  • Strong knowledge of oil and gas processing technologies, equipment selection, and process safety management.
  • Experience with project management, including leading multidisciplinary engineering projects in the oil and gas sector.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Office-based with frequent visits to field sites, including onshore and offshore facilities.
  • Exposure to industrial environments with potential hazards, requiring adherence to strict safety protocols.
  • Travel to project sites and meetings as required.
