Job Description:

We are seeking an IT Support Specialist with experience in maritime environments. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, application software, and peripherals, along with skills in the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of communication systems. This role requires providing both remote and on-site IT support and maintenance services for users and end-user devices, with a particular emphasis on maritime vessels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide IT support and maintenance services onboard vessels and remotely.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot communication systems and network connectivity.
  • Offer expertise in LAN network connectivity with a focus on maritime applications.
  • Liaise with vendors on new IT purchases and manage vendor relationships.
  • Participate in ad-hoc assignments as required, ensuring seamless IT operations.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and updates to shipboard IT infrastructure.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of working experience in IT Support, preferably in a maritime environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Cisco CCNA) are an added bonus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Positive and proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with vendors and crew members.
