Job Description : The Head of Dietetics & Dietary will be responsible for overseeing the Dietetics & Dietary department, managing a team of dietitians and dietary staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality nutritional services.
- To develop, establish and continually upgrade the system of Dietetics & Dietary Services in accordance to the overall goals and objectives of hospital.
- To develop and review the organizational structure of the Department, job description and responsibilities of all Dietetics & Dietary Personnel.
- To develop, implement and review the services standards, guidelines, policies and procedures in conformance with the hospital Policies and Procedures.
- To develop, implement and evaluate quality assurance programs or/and initiate corrective actions to ensure quality and professional dietary & dietetic services.
- To plan, direct and coordinate the activities of the Services in order to facilitate smooth workflow and quality services.
- To constructively participate in Head of Services or other intra-/ inter-services meetings.
- To prepare and maintain reports / records of various statistics as directed and submit to management in a timely manner.
- To plan and review staffing requirement and interview new staff for Dietetics & Dietary Services with liaison with Talent Management Services.
- To assess and conduct probationary and annual performance appraisal to Dietetics & Dietary personnel.
- To provide nutritional support and dietary consultation to all referred in-/outpatients (where relevant).
- To develop and review diet literatures for patients, carers or staff.
- To liaise with medical staff, nursing staff and other allied health professionals regarding the dietary management of patients.
- To keep appropriate records and correspondence regarding patients.
- To liaise with vendors and ensure the high quality and appropriate products are purchased.
- To monitor outsource catering / cafeteria (where relevant).
- To participate actively in professional development programs to update and upgrade managerial and professional skills. E.g. attend relevant seminars/ conferences.
- To plan and develop cost control system and annual departmental budget.
- To plan, develop, implement and evaluate effective and continuing staff development programs such as staff orientation, in-house and external educational programs.
- To establish effective relationships and communication with medical staff, nursing and other departments to plan and coordinate food and nutritional care services.
Education:
- Minimum Postgraduate Diploma/ Bachelor Degree in Dietetics plus clinical internship at hospital setting.
- Preferably Master Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics.
Knowledge and Experiences:
- At least 3-4 years related working experience.
- Preferably more than 5 years related working experience.
