Mechanic

Job Description:

• Core Tasks: Overhaul and service engines, gearboxes, pumps, etc., both in the workshop and onboard vessels, ensuring optimal engine condition.
• Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and procedures, conducting regular safety training and inspections to maintain a safe working environment. Proper housekeeping of special tools and workshop environment to be clean and free from hazard
• Quality Control: Monitor work processes and outcomes to ensure adherence to high-quality standards, promptly addressing any issues.
• Communication: Maintain clear and open communication with team members, management, and other departments to ensure alignment and collaboration.
• Cultural Competence: Respecting and valuing diversity, and effectively interacting with individuals from different backgrounds.

Job Requirements:

• At least 3 years of combined experience with Cummins and/or Caterpillar engines, including proficiency in diagnostic tools like ET Laptop; certification from Cummins and Caterpillar is a plus.
• Experience in engine swinging and voyage repairs.
• Mechanical skills in fabrication, hydraulic, pneumatic, welding, soldering, mechanical assembly, and component replacement.
• Non-mandatory experience in ZF, Twindisc, and Reintjes gearbox overhauling and troubleshooting.
