Looking for Economist to be based in Kuala Lumpur with an oil and gas company.

This is an oil and gas company based in Kuala Lumpur.

Your new role

As an Economist, you are expected to;

• Performs and understands investment appraisal and discounted cash flow analyses on investment decisions for both new and/or existing projects.
  
• Prepares economic components for long range planning, quarterly/year-end reserves reporting, exploration performance analysis, impairment tests, corporate planning templates, and other key business decisions (ie. Production sharing contract bid rounds, farmin/farmout activities, BD opportunities, etc.)
  
• Compiles and documents economic assumptions provided by the corporate office, provides business insights into how changes in economic assumptions impact current and future business opportunities.
  
• Provide investment insight and make investment recommendations supported by economic/fiscal analysis.
  
• Supports preparation of management presentations during planning cycles and/or when required to pursue future opportunities.
  
• Maintains and enhances existing Excel economic models and ensures they deliver accurate and relevant economic analyses.
  
  
  

What you'll need to succeed

• Bachelor or Master's Degree of Economics, Engineering, or Finance, or MBA.
  
• 10+ years experience in the oil and gas industry with experience in petroleum economics. Additional experience with Investment Banking would be highly considered.
  
• Deep understanding of and experience with economic analysis, including discounted cash flow analysis.
  
• Experience with decision and risk analysis.
  
• Strong Microsoft Excel modeling and PowerPoint skills & experience.
