We are seeking a talented and motivated IT Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in information technology, with expertise in network infrastructure, systems administration, and technical support. As an IT Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our IT systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and securely.

Responsibilities

Server Administration and Maintenance:

  • Administer and maintain the company's servers.
  • Monitor server performance, conduct routine maintenance, and troubleshoot issues to ensure uptime and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Regularly monitor backups, test and execute disaster recovery plans.

Network and Security Management:

  • Implement and maintain security measures, including firewalls and antivirus.
  • Manage and support Active Directory services, including user account provisioning, group policy management, and domain controller maintenance.
  • Monitor and analyze firewall logs, implementing security policies.
  • Manage antivirus software and stay updated on security threats.

User Support and Documentation:

  • Conduct IT onboarding for new employees.
  • Respond to IT service requests and provide timely resolutions.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, IT policies and procedures.

Inventory and Asset Management:

  • Implement asset tracking and maintain accurate inventory records for software, servers, and computers.
  • Plan and execute software and hardware upgrades.
  • Conduct periodic audits for accuracy.

Vendor and Contract Management:

  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to procure IT equipment and services. Manage vendor relationships and contracts.

Technology Evaluation:

  • Research and evaluate new technologies and tools to enhance the IT infrastructure and improve efficiency.
  • Possess basic programming skills e.g. SQL to support sales and operations in automating tasks, and develop scripts for system management.

Skills and experience required

  • At least 3+ years of working experience in a related field is required for this position
  • Minimum Diploma or Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in service desk and end-user environment support

Prior experience in the following is a plus

  • Microsoft Server
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software such as Microsoft Dynamics AX
  • SQL programming language
  • AutoCount Accounting software
  • VSSAutosoft Vehicle Service System
  • TeamViewer
  • Jira service desk (IT Ticketing system)
