Qualifications & experience
- Preferred Malaysian citizen.
- Candidate must possess at least a Diploma/ Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering, Certificate of Competency (COC) Class 2 or higher.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a relevant role (offshore, ship building, dry docking, engine repair, vessel overhauls etc & should have served as an Engineering Officer onboard vessel).
- Fluent in spoken & written English and Bahasa Malaysia language.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with individuals at all levels within the organization both onboard and ashore.
- Flexibility in working patterns.
- Proven experience of leading and managing multi-skilled teams.
- Possess strong interpersonal, leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Possess own vehicle and is willing to travel within a short notice period.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Strong candidate with Marine experience to lead Technical, Operation and Crewing team.
- Responsible for yearly budget preparation for technical, operation and crewing department.
- Tactical planning for vessel movement i.e., docking, planned/ scheduled maintenance. Perform Technical reports & analysis independently for management.
- Coordinate safe and efficient operation of the ships by following the standards of international ship management, relevant legislation and quality standards.
- Implement and monitor Planned Maintenance System for the Malaysia fleet effectively & efficiently to minimize downtime, maintain schedules and increase operational efficiency.
- Manage repair & maintenance costs efficiently without compromising quality & standards.
- Support General Manager on commercial aspects i.e., tender processes and ground information etc. Represent management on regular visits to the vessel.
- Responsible for new vessel and fleet renewal programs assigned by management.
- Responsible for vessel Inspection for clients and also Insurance inspection related to incident claims.
- Responsible for repair, maintenance and docking expenditure/ cost against the budgeted amount.
