JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health Management, Engineering (Environmental, Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) or Science or related field
  • Minimum 5 years working experience as a DOSH Competent Safety and Health Officer
  • Registered Safety Officer with DOSH/ JKKP (Active Green Book Holder).
  • Well versed with Malaysia regulations (OSHA Act 1994, Fire Service Act 1988, Uniform Building By-Laws 1984 and Environmental Quality Act 1974) and EHS Management System (ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018) with experience in management system audits;
  • Experience as Management Representative (MR) for ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 Management System would be an added advantage.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To advice the employer on the measures to be taken in the interest of the occupational safety and health of the employees.
  • Subject matter expert of Malaysia regulations (OSHA Act 1994, FMA 1967, Poison Act 1952, Atomic Energy Licensing Act 1984, Fire Service Act 1988, and Uniform Building By-Laws 1984 and EHS Management System (ISO45001) with experience in management system audits.
  • To investigate, analyze and maintain statistics on any accident, near-miss accident, dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning, or occupational disease which has happened in the place of work as stated in the OSHA 1994 (Safety and Health Officer) Regulations 1997.
  • To inspect the place of work to determine whether any machineries, plants, equipment’s, substances, appliances or process or any description of manual labor used in the place of work, is of such nature liable to cause bodily injury to any person working in the place of work.
  • To implement and to ensure implementation of procedures compliance to industry standards and government safety regulations to continuously improve EHS Management System ISO 45001 by coordinating/conducting regular internal audits, awareness briefing, training, and induction program.
  • To liaise and coordinate with regulatory bodies i.e., Department of Safety and Health (DOSH), Department of Environment (DOE), Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), BOMBA, etc and monitor the requirement and its compliance.
  • Prepare and present reports related to Occupational Safety and Health to management and relevant stakeholders.
