JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or equivalent.
  • Candidate holding professional certification eg NEBOSH, OSHA, CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or similar SSHE qualifications are highly desirable.
  • Minimum 7 Year(s) of working experience in SSHE management, preferably in a manufacturing field.
  • In-depth knowledge of Malaysian SSHE regulations (e.g., OSHA 1994, EQA 1974, FMA 1967) and international standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
  • Proficient in risk assessment methodologies, incident investigation techniques, and emergency response planning.
  • Proficient in using SSHE management systems, software tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with safety equipment, environmental monitoring tools, and security systems.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills, capable of handling documentation, reports, and regulatory filings.
  • Willingness to travel to different sites within Malaysia and work outside regular hours when necessary.
  • Fluent speaking and writing in English, Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Able to join immediately is an advantage.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • SSHE Policy and Program Development:
    • Develop and implement comprehensive SSHE policies, procedures, and guidelines in line with MYGP's corporate goals and local Malaysian regulations (OSHA 1994, EQA 1974, FMA 1967).
    • Establish SSHE goals, objectives, and performance indicators, regularly monitoring progress and making adjustments as necessary.
  • Risk Management and Assessment:
    • Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard identification to proactively address potential safety, security, and environmental risks.
    • Collaborate with different departments to implement risk mitigation strategies and monitor the effectiveness of control measures.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Auditing:
    • Ensure full compliance with Malaysian SSHE regulations, including obtaining necessary permits, licenses, and certifications.
    • Organize and conduct regular audits, inspections, and compliance checks to identify non-conformance and areas for improvement.
    • Maintain records of SSHE incidents, corrective actions, and performance metrics.
  • Training and Awareness Programs:
    • Develop and deliver SSHE training programs for all employees, contractors, and visitors, ensuring a thorough understanding of safety procedures, emergency response, and environmental management.
    • Organize regular safety drills, such as fire evacuations and spill response, to enhance preparedness.
  • Incident Investigation and Reporting:
    • Lead investigations of all workplace accidents, injuries, near misses, and environmental incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
    • Prepare comprehensive reports for management and regulatory authorities, ensuring transparency and continuous improvement.
  • Environmental Management and Sustainability:
    • Oversee waste management, pollution control, energy efficiency, and water conservation initiatives to ensure MYGP's operations are environmentally sustainable.
    • Work towards minimizing the environmental impact of manufacturing processes by implementing green practices, such as recycling programs and emission reduction strategies.
  • Security Management:
    • Develop and maintain security protocols to protect MYGP personnel, facilities, and assets.
    • Collaborate with security personnel to implement access controls, surveillance systems, and emergency response plans.
  • Emergency Preparedness and Response:
    • Develop and maintain emergency response plans, ensuring readiness for potential emergencies such as fires, chemical spills, natural disasters, or security breaches.
    • Train and lead an emergency response team, ensuring quick and effective action during incidents.
  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
    • Stay updated with the latest SSHE regulations, technologies, and industry best practices, ensuring MYGP remains a leader in SSHE performance.
    • Promote a culture of safety, environmental awareness, and continuous improvement across all levels of the organization.
