Title: IT Consultant
Reports to: IT Manager, Global Information Services

Background
The Asia Foundation (TAF) is seeking an experienced IT Consultant to provide specialized IT support and services for the Foundation. The IT Consultant will be responsible for maintaining IT infrastructure, providing user support, and ensuring optimal performance of all IT equipment in the Malaysia office, as well as support regional initiatives as required.

Frequency of Services
The IT Consultant will be required to provide services part-time, with a commitment of two days per week. At least 1 day a week will involve on-site support at the Foundation’s office in Kuala Lumpur.

Summary of Responsibilities
The IT Consultant will provide technical assistance to staff, set up and maintain IT equipment, and perform regular checks on hardware, software, and network infrastructure to ensure security and efficiency. They will troubleshoot IT issues, coordinate with external teams and vendors, and maintain the availability of essential IT supplies. The consultant will report regularly to supervisors, conduct staff training on proper system use, and handle any additional IT-related tasks assigned by management.

Required Skills
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support or consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of IT Systems, networks, printers, and server management.
• Proficiency in Windows operating systems and troubleshooting.
• Expertise in Microsoft 365, SharePoint and Cloud storage applications.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to train non-technical staff.
• Availability to provide remote support as needed.

Scope of Work
The IT Consultant will be responsible for the following tasks:
• User Support: Provide technical assistance and support to staff, resolving IT-related issues promptly and efficiently.
• Hardware and Software Support:
o As required, set up and configure new desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT equipment.
o Conduct routine hardware checks on desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
o To maintain security and efficiency, perform regular checks on all computers, including operating systems, software, antivirus programs, and drivers.
o Provide need-based troubleshooting for computers, printers, software, antivirus, and other relevant IT equipment.
o Ensure the availability and provision of all essential IT materials and supplies required for maintenance and support tasks.
o Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure to ensure uptime and reliability.
• Coordination: Conducted regular check-in and bi-weekly meetings with GIS to discuss and report on IT-related issues and acted as the liaison between TAF-Malaysia and external IT teams, including third-party vendors.
• Reporting: The IT Consultant must report directly to the Supervisor and GIS and submit detailed weekly/monthly reports outlining all IT-related activities, issues resolved, and work completed.
• Training and Support: Provide training and guidance to staff on properly using computer systems and software, promoting best practices and efficient use.
• Additional IT Tasks: Perform any other IT-related tasks as assigned by the Supervisor/Director or The Asia Foundation Management.

Key Responsibilities:
