Role Objective
- To handle and supervise all health and safety matters in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health
Act 1994 and any other related OSH regulations. Promote safe workplace.
Job Description
- To promote and maintain safe and healthy working conditions for employees by setting and enforcing adherence to safety health measures.
- Liaise with DOSH, Police, BOMBA, KKM where needed and required in safety and health matters of employees at COURTS stores and Support Centre.
- To conduct training for Fire Wardens and include First Aid with CPR skills. Ensure OSH Committee members including Ensure Emergency Response Team (ERP) are fully trained and aware of their responsibilities.
- Assist in establishing and enhancing Safety Policies and Procedures in compliance with OSH regulations.
- Advise and update regularly on safety & health plus preventive measures, concerns of the business.
- Conduct and organize meetings with OSH Committee members as per Organisation Chart. Attend COURTS store’s OSH meetings where possible. Compile meeting minutes from stores.
- Conduct site inspections at stores on yearly basis and/or based on situations. Ensure proper checklist and filing is done. Fulfil the required standards and regulations of JKKP (DOSH) and KKM.
- Support and assist Support Centre and all COURTS stores to conduct fire drill exercise. Ensure fire escape floor plans with exit signs are updated from time to time.
- Attend and assist to address Internal and/or External Audit findings with Store Managers. Conduct follow-ups regularly with Store Managers.
- First Aid inventory replenishment at all COURTS stores and Support Centre.
- Arrange checks on firefighting system and equipment to ensure items are well maintained, fire extinguishers are within the expiry dates limit and signages are correctly displayed.
- Attend and assist in JKKP inspections of lift and escalator at Support Centre and all COURTS stores with lifts.
- Attend to incidents and manage all necessary reporting.
- Manage OSH Committee member in Support Centre and COURTS stores, including appointments and resignations.
- Any other responsibilities related to safety and health or related to General Affairs scope of work that may arise from time to time.
Job Requirement
- Candidate must possess at least a Professional Certificate, Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational
Safety & Health (OSH) or equivalent. - Must be a certified and registered Safety & Health Officer (SHO) with DOSH.
- Must have attended Occupational First Aid training, if possible, with examination and certified.
- At least 2-3 years of relevant working experience.
- Reliable with good working attitude.
- Must be able to travel to all COURTS stores nationwide (EM & WM).
- Yearly update with NIOSH or any other appointed providers on Safety & Health
